London CNN —It will be a bittersweet day for Britain’s royal family Friday as they mark not only the first year of King Charles III’s reign but the one-year anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s death. King Charles is giving up the lease on a cottage in Wales, The Telegraph reported. Since becoming king, Charles was renting the property which is owned by the Duchy of Cornwall. When he was the Prince of Wales, Charles oversaw a vast property empire owned by the Duchy of Cornwall, which his son William now controls. King Charles's home in Llwynywermod, Wales. William planned to stay in hotels to support the local economy when visiting Wales so didn't need a similar base there, representatives for the Prince of Wales told the newspaper.

I had no intention of watching the Netflix docuseries “Harry & Meghan,” the first three episodes of which dropped Dec. 8. I want to admire Harry and Meghan. The fact is, I’ve always liked Meghan and Harry. I’m not sure if the point of “Harry & Meghan” was to make people feel sorry for them, but that’s certainly one of the messages I got, and I found it cringeworthy. I want to admire Harry and Meghan.

IN Netflix's "Harry & Meghan" documentary, Prince Harry recalls being screamed and shouted at by his brother, William, the Prince of Wales, during a family summit. Netflix on Thursday dropped three further episodes in the six-part series it bills as an "unprecedented and in-depth" documentary. The second installment, however, has proved more explosive with seeming revelations about the events leading up to the couple's ultimate decision to step down from the royal family in 2020. The current rise in Covid-19 cases is one leg of a triple threat – a “tridemic,” a “tripledemic” or a “trifecta,” as some news organizations are calling it – along with a bad flu season and an RSV outbreak hitting mainly children. People at higher risk of getting sick should wear masks when there is medium spread, such as in Los Angeles County. “You can count masking, vaccines, boosting, testing – all of that is part of the spectrum of protecting yourself and your family,” Fauci said. But if Covid-19 cases were to increase, a little less than two-thirds of Americans, 65%, said they would wear a mask. This will be the conundrum for public health officials if Covid-19 cases continue along with this “tripledemic” – how to get people to wear masks without trying to make them do it.
